Thanks. Seems like a good deal on quality residential/semi commercial trimmer. Heard redmaxx is a good option. Anyone using redmaxx?

Redmax are great. Just pricy. I prefer stihl but have nothing against echo. I run some of their products.

I'd look at the Husqvarna 223L also... Probably the best balanced light weight trimmer under $300. Lighter and better balanced than the Echo's with a superior stock head to boot. Also the latest Echo's carbs are just set way too lean and need adjustment as the trimmer ages... Get a lowe's 10% off coupon on-line or at your local post office and get it for $225+ tax. I have the echo SRM 210/230 and Stihl FS 94R. I prefer the 94R over the Husky, but it is an additional $100 over the Husky.

I say Echo SRM-225. Do some searching around before you buy. I found mine for 199.99 at a local Echo dealer while Home Depot had it for 219.99.

Home Depot and ace will match the $199

I've gone through a few trimmers and the best so far (by a mile) is a Tanaka. Never had such a nice engine. Little tougher to find though.

Can;t locate a Tanaka in my area of KY. Can get a Husqvarna 223L for about 219.00 with some creative discount use. If I go Factory Renewed/Reconditioned form sears I can get for 180-190 ish. Not sure about renewed/reconditioned. Thoughts anyone?

If I go new and order Husqvarna premixed oil (about 25.00 more) I can extent the warranty by 2 year. Can get extra 2 to 3 year warranty on Hus 223 with oil purchase.

The Echo 225SNR mentioned is running about 218.00 OTD (199.00 plus TN tax) with 5 year warranty standard and a bottle of oil to boot and service is 15 miles form my house.

I am thinking for the larger property residential user like me the Echo is sounding like the way to go for me.

We sell ECHO, and service most other brands. I do very little carb adjusting on ECHO equipment that is still under warranty. Most of those carb adjustments probably could have been avoided if quality, clean, properly mixed fuel had been used.
