Hello All!!

My john deere will not turn over. I figure it is either a starter or a solenoid issue.

I am looking for a little advise as to ruling out the weak link here. As in; how to go about bypassing the solenoid, how to rule a starter as bad, and any other tips you folks may think would be useful.

All my connections are tight, clean and corrosion free.

The starter switch engages(clicks) the solenoid buzzes, but the engine just wont turn. The flywheel starts to turn just a c-h then nothing. the buzzing at the solenoid will continue as long as I have the key turned.

I do look forward to any feed-back

Take the plugs out, try to rotate the starter by hand, the gear may just be stuck, or something else.

Any chance that you have jumped it off with an automotive battery before? They carry a lot more amps than lawn and garden batteries and can easily damage the starter. Especially if the automobile engine is running at the time.
