Has anyone tried the splined slide PTO shaft that is offered aftermarket to replace the original square shaft and square tube PTO on a 700 series Grasshopper. The claim is the spline shaft is tighter and stays tighter as the square shaft wears and loosens up.

The claim is it's smoother with less vibration?

It has quite a price tag but I have to guess the OEM replacement isn't cheap either.

I assume it's this one at the bottom of the page. Grasshopper Lawnmower Parts - Grasshopper Mower Parts Diagrams - The Mower Shop, Inc.

I had a small enough vib to think about it 3 summers ago, but had a RH trans fail that summer & the splined shaft was a little less interesting. :laughing:

That is the one I was referring to, I was having a bit of a time trying to remember where I saw the splined shaft PTO. If I get to the point of replacing mine I would like to hear feed back from anyone that has been around this replacement shaft if it is worth the extra cash?
