Smoking bad

I have a GR2000, after mowing in some heavy grass the motor (21 hp Kohler Twin V air cooled) got very HOT. When I restarted it smoked really bad. Now as I run it it continues to smoke after it loads up with oil on the cylinder . It has not lost any power at all and the engine sounds good at all times, it just smokes when it loads up and then does not smoke between load ups (approx. 3 mins time). Are my rings stuck? if so can I fix that someway without going in the engine?

Load as opposed to coast always produces the worst smoking if rings or cylinder clearance is a problem. IMO.
