New member - I own a Ferris ProCut 61 H2020K repowered with a Honda GXV630R-TAF. Still a work in progress. Biggest problem is the location of the muffler provided by the Repowering Experts. Their muffler sits on the gas tank! Haven't been able to find a solution.

Other than that, the machine, given to me with a blown Kohler Magnum 20 HP engine, runs great. I decided to repower it because Kohler retired the Magnum (according to them due to emissions and weight) - and I suspect because they were such a bear to work take appart) and does not offer a bolt on replacement. Kohler explained that the machine was re-engineered to take the newly designed Kohler engine. I went with Honda over Kawasaki because Honda has better support - when I contacted Kawasaki they told me that they were no longer in the repowering business and that I would have to go through a third party. In the course of this endeavour (I am not a mechanic nor engineer) I spoke to Kohler, very helpful once I managed to find my way to their engineering department in Wisconsin, the same with Ferris in NY and ditto for Honda - though Honda does not address "what if" questions, only specific ones where I include specific part numbers. The Repowering Specialists and I are going back and forth regarding their crazy dangerous idea of putting the muffler on the gas tank. The machine, which I got for free, looks like heck, need a little bit of TLC repairs, but it runs great. I have 10+ hilly acres in the Catskills and it carries me , up and around (I'm a XXL guy) just fine. The turf tires sometimes loose grip, so I purchased a pair of ag tires which I have not mounted yet.
When I started the project I purchased a second H2020K for parts and a template. The second machine provided the seat, a couple rims and a few other items. Well, that's my story. If anyone has a suggestion as to what I should consider regarding moving the muffler on the machine (I call it the tank), please let me know.

:welcome: to the forum. Good looking machine you have. You will find a solution to the muffler problem, I personally am not familiar with those mowers.

Seems like, with a little cutting/bending/welding/fabricating, you could mount the muffler/exhaust on the other side or over the engine. I've done that before when repowering with a different engine. gregjo1948
