Can anyone tell me anything about this mower? Picked it up the other day because it appeared to be in great condition and it has a very unique air intake that caught my eye. The Tecumseh XL 4.0 looks to never have been ran as well as the blade and shaft. I think the deck was refinished and new genuine parts put on. Any info on year, collectibility or anything else is appreciated. Thanks for looking. image.jpg

I really hope your not going to use this to cut your grass.
Very nice looking snapper
Give me a few mins and I will tell you all you want to know about it.

Ok I will say early 70s would have had adjustable wheel front and back.

Could have came with one of three engines.

Briggs 3.5 hp 4 cycle
2 cycle Wisconsin robins
4 cycle Tecumseh

It is a nice looking mower but with the mods done to it that's all it is.

I would not use it because it would look nice in the shop

Thank you for the info!
I had a feeling the engine didn't match since there are the risers under it. I don't intend to use it because of its condition and because I think it would look much nicer in the window of an old snapper dealer than on my lawn.

That's an 18" commercial Snapper. Mid 1980's. They were designed around the US Government (GSA) bid contract for lawnmowers at the time. No frills! Most of them went to Government agency's like prisons and post offices etc. They were a good heavy duty lawnmower.

Cool! Do you think there's any value in this mower? I'm not a collector it expert by any means. Not even sure where I'd go to find a buyer.
