My dad put in a new coil and he hooked the wires up wrong and they melted. Is it hard to replace the wiring harness?

Not hard, just time and patience. If you need help locating harness on web, post year, model, engine numbers please.

If its on the Bolen I will hope you the best of luck finding a wiring harness. You just might have to repair what you have. A good wiring diagram and some electrical experience will help also. If you do find a wiring harness take it slow and don't just rip out all the old wires. Mark everything as you take it apart. Myself I number every wire and connection. It takes time to do so but if you don't do that you will be lost. Most garden tractors are color coded and you will be surprised how the colors will change and the new harness will be different, this will be where the wiring diagram and experience will help.
