trying to find out how to replace the deck bearing on a jacobsen t422d
Are you referring to replacing a mandrel bearing? If so, to remove a mandrel, start by removing the top nut that holds the pulley in place and remove the pulley. The blade brake can be pushed away from the pulley to get it off Leave the blade on at this point because it will aid in adding leverage to get the pulley nut off. Next remove the three or four small bolts that secure the mandrel housing to the deck. Lube em up good first because they have a tendency to break easily. Once these bolts are off, the mandrel housing with the blade attached will fall out underneath the deck. You can now easily remove the blade and go about replacing the bad bearing. Good luck!
