Here's my latest aquisition: another Snapper WR 2cycle. I got it for free from my favorite local mower shop. Some guy dropped it off, just didn't want it anymore. The owner knows I'm always looking for these old things and he just gave it to me. He didn't know if it ran or not, and it was pretty dirty but I was very thankful to get it. i brought it home, spent about an hour cleaning it up, threw in a new NGK plug and it started on the first pull! I couldn't beleive it. It runs great and idles down great too. As clean as it is (after a little work) and as well as it runs, this is my new everyday-use mower. It's awesome.

It's still my regular grass killer. I think it's time to adjust the carb again, not quite getting the revs I was. Blade needs a sharpening, too. Is there some way to coat the bottom of the deck, I get a buildup under the lip of it sometimes.

Some say it works to deter buildup of grass clippings.

Hey that stuff looks good. I'll have to look for that. I've also heard vegetable oil will work too but that can I would try first.

How tough are parts to find for those WR 2 strokes? If they don't run with minor tweaks, do ya just junk 'em?

Parts can be pricey but they're built so tough that frequent repairs aren't an issue. Ebay is probably the best place to hunt for parts. Well some people junk 'em, hence how I basically aquired my two. The po's just didn't appreciate them. And since I only mow my lawn - I'm not in the business - they should outlast me. But even one with a dead engine has usable parts, either on the deck or somewhere. I'll never junk these.
