B&S trouble running

My 5hp B&S Eng. Model 135212-0272-01 only wants to run with the choke in the closed position . When the throttle and choke are put to the run position it dies unless I return it to full choke.Please any advise will be appreciated

Sounds like your carb needs to be removed from the tank and given a good cleaning. These two manuals should help you in doing this.

Yep that would be the problem I bet a good cleaning should fix it.
