Hi, I'm a new member, in Utah(south of SLC) , and have been using a 70's vintage McLane 20" reel mower very successfully for 5 years, until it just quit. It won't start with starter spray, no life at all! Check plug, has spark, cleaned carb w/ choke spray, gas is relatively new with stabilizer, it's just dead. Has compression, what could I do? So I bought a used 20" McLane reel mower, essentially the newer model of the old workhorse, but with 10 blades instead of 7, and a higher cut capability. A great looking cut. Now I'd still like to fix and use the old workhorse if possible, but what could I be missing on getting it started?

If you have spark... and fuel plus compression the only other thing needed is air, if that is not obstructed... And there is not a big air leak at the intake... the only remaining thing is the timing .
What make engine is this?

PS.. welcome to a great forum... & I LOVE Utah, I had too much fun all around SLC back in the 60's when I was in the military... :smile:KennyV
