I think you probably could. I've done it on the bench before on a Briggs, with a big drill. But that was before I was warned about overtightening the bolt that holds the flywheel.

They're 30's. When it rounded out, The next size (allan head) was about all I could get in it. But that was too loose. I knew it was. but gave it a shot. And that didn't work either. My map gas canister is empty. But I still have a soldering torch I might throw at it. I might try filing off...

Better luck today. I got two more of the 3 remaining valve cover bolts out. The 3rd one wollered out the torx part. So, tomorrow my only option is going to be tacking a nut on top of this one. I'm just glad the head hasn't broken off. Still can't rotate the crank though.

I dropped the plastic safety seal off the top of an oil bottle down into my brothers Kohler last year. I've been waiting to hear him say something about his engine since then. Nothing yet. lol

Ah, Ok, get you a shop vac and either put the hose at the fill tube or the oil drain.

Belt routing and condition of the belt. Condition of the pully bearings. Nothing caught up in the belts or pulleys. If those all check out, then it almost has to be the transmission.

Are you sure about that? Just to double check, I went out and looked at the two riders I have, and both seats are directly over the rear tires. And the only cushion is the seat, seat spring and tires. While most of the ztr's seats are a tad bit in front of the drive tires.

Where would you say Husqvarna stands on their biggest residential ZTR, quality wise? I'm looking for something around a 60" ZTR. And I'm not sure why, maybe it's the marketing, but every time I do a ZTR search, Husq covers almost every search page.

It seems the prices on the Spartans are up there. Even the used ones (61") I'm seeing are over $8000.

Just a guess, but you might try cleaning out the carburetor bowl.

Which also explain a crank seal leak, when the crank seal is on the side, and not the bottom. As in vertical engines.
