    Kohler lifter

Working on a Kohler twin, I think 26/27 HP. No ID numbers on it. It's in a Ferris IS3100 zero steer mower. I need to install the lifter on the number 2 head and having a hard time getting it in. Can't see back in the opening to align the lifter with the hole. Because there is such a fine...

    What do I have?

I picked up a 61" Ferris Z with a Kawasaki liquid cooled engine. There is no ID tag on the engine. Wondered if it's the only liquid cooled engine that Kawasaki made? I need to get some parts for it and need to ID it to order parts. I have the serial and model #s on the mower. 2000701028 and...

    Start and quit

Working on a Kohler twin. No ID tag on it, but I think it's around 20/25hp. It starts up n,e fi but only runs about 15 seconds and quits. can restart immediately. Fuel pump working and getting spark to the plugs. Could it be a faulty fuel solenoid?

    just quit

I mostly work on Ferris mowers. Just trying to help out a friend on this JD. Solved the big problem about it quitting. RAN OUT OF FUEL. Gauge read 3/4 full. Wouldn't crank over because some DUMBASS didn't set the brake. thanks for the help, gregjo1948

    just quit

Deck is turned off. Going to bypass seat safety switch and motion control switches also. Looking in JD parts for this model shows a 30A fuse but I haven.t found it on this machine. Thinking may need to open panel under throttle/ignition switch to find fuse.(s)

    just quit

JD Z960R was running as it should with its Kawasaki engine and then just stopped running. There was no sputtering or lurching, it just stopped. The ignition turns on the hour meter and the idiot lights, but won't activate the starter. I'm thinking it might have blown a fuse but I haven't located...

    Kohler ID?

I got in, to repair, a Ferris 3- wheel mower, model 5900701--serial 2012629507. It has a Kohler 2-cylinder engine with no ID tag on it. It has cast iron sleeves in the cylinders, hydraulic lifters, and it is carbureted. The cylinder bore is 3.263"(best I could measure). Can anyone identify this...

    hydro-gear rebuild

I don't believe I installed the cover 180 out, but I will check it to make sure. I don't really understand how it would run backwards. I didn't mark the cover before removing it and I reinstalled it the same as the cover on the other transaxle. Would the covers form right and left side be 180...

    hydro-gear rebuild

This transaxle is on a 61" Ferris FW35 walk behind. It has a single motion bar to move forward and a squeeze handle on each side of the handlebar to move rearward and to steer right or left. hydro-gear rebuild

Got the transaxle back together and mounted on the Ferris. It doesn't turn the wheel. FW 35 Ferris walk behind no fuel

This mower has a 28 hp Briggs VanGuard EFI engine. The fuel pump is working as it should but, gas isn't getting into the intake manifold. It will run if I drizzle gas down the air intake tube. Because it's EFI, I think it's not getting power to the injectors to open. I haven't found any broken...

This engine is on a FW35 Ferris walk behind mower. The engine isn't getting fuel into intake manifold. The fuel pump is working as it should. It runs, if I drizzle gas down the air intake tube. Thanks to all for the replies. I can't give you the engine numbers because as soon as I got it running, the landscaper took it back to mowing. This time of year in upstate NY, the lawn mowing contractors can't have downtime as the grass grows almost fast enough to see it happening.

    Kawasaki FH430v-AS26-R surging engine issue

Is the carb replacement new? Surging, I've found to be a lean fuel mixture. Engine runs a little too low on fuel so, it opens the governor to compensate and then it gets a bit too much fuel causing the rpms to rise. Then the governor backs off causing a drop in rpms. This rise and fall in...
