Working on a Kohler twin. No ID tag on it, but I think it's around 20/25hp. It starts up n,e fi but only runs about 15 seconds and quits. can restart immediately. Fuel pump working and getting spark to the plugs. Could it be a faulty fuel solenoid?

Thanks guys for your explanations. If the idle is set too low, could that also cause a gallop/surging?

Deck is turned off. Going to bypass seat safety switch and motion control switches also. Looking in JD parts for this model shows a 30A fuse but I haven.t found it on this machine. Thinking may need to open panel under throttle/ignition switch to find fuse.(s)

JD Z960R was running as it should with its Kawasaki engine and then just stopped running. There was no sputtering or lurching, it just stopped. That certainly confused me. My clutch has the pulley away from the engine. Does that mean I need a ccw clutch?

Have a IS1000 Z Ferris with a faulty safety switch on the right-side motion control lever. Has four wires and wondered if I can bypass that side and leave the left side operable. Or can I disable both of them. thanks, gregjo1948

Turned out that the pump was at fault. Replaced some parts and seems to be fine now.

Have one just like that. I usually just grab a screwdriver and leave my mark.

Surging fixed by adjusting governor.

Turned out that the pump was faulty. Got parts and repaired it.

49E877-0005 With a compression ratio of around 8.5 to 1, these engines don't need high octane gas.

I got in a FW35 Ferris that was a mess from an oil leak thinking it was the lower crank seal but turned out to be one of the hydraulic filters was way too loose.

Turned out the starter wasn't cranking it over fast enough. Swapped a starter from another Kawasaki I had in the shop and it started so fast, it startled me.
