    Gauge Wheel Adjustors

Thats what I was going to use but could not find any used decks but then found the adjustment kit on Ebay for $15.00 so did that instead. I do adjust mine to be off the ground on concrete floor around 1/2in. at whatever setting I have the deck set at. My lawn is surly not very level but at least...

    Gauge Wheel Adjustors

Heres an update to this conversion. Found that the deck brackets are a bit different from side to side on my Craftsman 42in deck so had to drill one new hole to correct a difference in height from left to right mounting height. Also I did use the tractor and had no issue with the adjuster...

    Gauge Wheel Adjustors

Early this month I had replied to another post but went to this new post. So I was wondering why they didn't make it better for the gauge wheel adjustments on a dick no one seemed to rely so just went with my own thoughts and got this together on my tractor and they seem to be what I wanted to...

those dang guage wheel shoulder bolts.

I don't have an issue with the wheels, and they are not setting on the ground but at 3in deck height I have the gauge wheels set to 1/2in higher off the ground on a concrete surface with deck height at the 3in setting but when I change to the 2in setting I have to do the resetting of the gauge...

those dang guage wheel shoulder bolts.

It would also be nice if they made the wheels a bit easier to adjust rather than having to remove the bolts and nuts to reset them. I live in Wisconsin and cut my grass at 3in all summer but in the fall the last two cuts I go to 2in for winter, and it is always a pain to change the gauge wheels...

    Seems Hard Start Hot

SUCCESS !!! This is the update, first off to Slomo and ILENGINE Thank you both for taking the time to give me direction as to what I needed to do to get me on the right track for the repair. I did the compete carburetor rebuild looking for the condition and was shocked as to how good this...

    Seems Hard Start Hot

That is true but his answer was ALL of these are made in China and that's my point it's a carb kit so why sell it at list price of $87.00 when you can get them online for a fourth of that price. If it were a full carburetor, I could understand because of quality controls that may or may not go...

    Seems Hard Start Hot

Slomo First reply: Blew thru line after 8-10 hours. Where would the gas go if it is a side draft Carb? But my problem is if it is hot and only sits 15 mins. or so than it starts like it is flooded. Second reply: What would the difference make if the needle and seat have to seal with the carb...

    Seems Hard Start Hot

Another question for you repair people, thinking about my issue I am wondering why and how does this type carb drain to intake if it were to over fill with fuel ? By the way it is made it sits flat and fuel is well below any outlets to pass to intake so what am I missing? I guess I am just...

So did the testing and found this, when I first started, I pulled the fuel line and blew into it and no restriction and could hear air going into carburetor tells me after setting the fuel is low now mind you carburetor is still mounted to tractor and will also still run. Run the tractor so carb...

    Seems Hard Start Hot

Just to let you know, I am going to do some hands-on testing tomorrow. Will post results to get your input. I do have a few short cut ideas to try to test that needle and seat so will get back to you all after I try them on the tractor. Before I went nuts, I wanted to wait for a little more...

    Seems Hard Start Hot

If it is the needle and seat, wouldn't I be getting some running problem when the engine is running after startup? Just thinking back to my car repair days and bad float seal would cause over fueling running. I was thinking maybe carb issue but wasn't wanting to go there unless I had to. To...

Hard Start after parking on Hill

StarTech you are correct this tank does not have baffles, but I did not know about the 15 degrees so from now on will keep this in mind when and if this hill parking comes up again. Another question about the fuel tank do ypu happen to know why the tank outlet kind of has a restriction built...

Hard Start after parking on Hill

I have a LTX1000 21.5HP tractor and I was doing some tree clean up and parked on about a 45-degree ditch with the noise down and when I was finished filling the trailer the tractor was very hard to start almost seemed like it was flooded. This happened twice that day. Yesterday just to try...

Fuel problem B&S model 294440-0414-01 V twin Vanguard

If you really still feel that the filter is a cause remove it and use a piece of fuel line in its place and see how it runs without the filter. I have a Craftsman tractor and my filter does this sometimes as well but still starts and runs fine. If I didn't have a clear filter, I would never know...

    Stihl 2stroke oil

Check with the company you bought saw from because I was looking into the Ultra HP for my 2-cycle equipment and ran across some info that stated if you use the Ultra HP Stihl will extend the warranty for an additional 2 years. This may be also worth the few extra dollars for the oil.

    How to resize photos

It may not be in the phone settings but is in the camera app settings. My phone has 4:3 (8.0M) down to 1:1 (2.4M) I have the factory installed app but I use another better phone app installed and they both have these adjustments.

    How to resize photos

If you check most phone and cameras have a picture sizing adjustment if you change it the size will be what ever you set it at. If you do this just remember to set it back if you want the better picture size of other things you save. By doing this you will not need any over software to change...

STIHL FS38 Primer bulb wont fill

Back to first question are you sure that the fuel lines are in the proper places? I did this before and drove me nuts but was just a mistake in line placement. The carb for sure will still need adjustments to be correct. That bulb should be filling with fuel for priming.

Can you identify what model this chipper is

Just a guess but if you can get the motor numbers off the motor maybe it would give you an idea of a year of manufacture at that point go to Craftsman site and see if you can come up with parts for chippers made around the era that have that motor installed. They may have pictures of units in...

I Hate Rework ( Even on my own stuff )

As stated, this seal was new and installed when I did the sump gasket that was only 2 months ago. You might want to try to put some grease in the lip area instead of oil it will help hold that spring in place we used to have that problem with automobile engines back when I was still turning wrenches and it always helped.
