command 20....1 valve works and 3 dont

Make sure valves aren't stuck open. That could make it appear that only one cam lobe is doing it's job. The push rods require the valve spring and rocker arm to return them back to the tappets.. if that makes sense

Kohler 7000 series engine with 189 hours

We've done alot of Kohler head gaskets. They have an updated head gasket P/N 32 841 02. I think they've known about this problem for awhile, but seems like they still put the weak head gaskets in from the factory??

    Briggs push mower engine 126T02-0675-B2

yes, it's an aftermarket 491588. I've never had a aftermarket paper pleated air filter cause any restrictions, but anythings possible I suppose. Still haven't got back around to trying a new filter let. I'll keep yall posted

    Briggs push mower engine 126T02-0675-B2

The carb that was on the mower was the stock oem carb. I ordered a carb online straight from Bangcock, lol. Both do the same thing. The old oem one acutally ran a little better, but both flood out when I put the new air filter on. I may try a different air filter just to eliminate that as a...

    Briggs push mower engine 126T02-0675-B2

Hey IL, It has the auto-choke system. I've checked to make sure it's not stuck on choke. The choke is fully "off choke" so that's not what's causing it. I'm almost tempted to believe the new air filter is somehow not letting enough air through. Although that would be the first time I've ever...

    Briggs push mower engine 126T02-0675-B2

Hello, I've got a briggs engine on a push mower that has me stumped. It wasn't running. First thing I found is the coil was spaced way too far from the flywheel. Reset the gap and the mower cranked up and ran good. Put the air filter base and filter on and it sounds like its flooding. Brand...

Adding a 1/4" hose nipple to a plastic dipstick tube

Ended up drilling a hole slightly smaller than 1/4" fuel line in the valve cover, crammed the hose in there, and is working nicely. Was a little nervous about drilling the cast aluminum valve cover, but it worked out fine. Thanks

Adding a 1/4" hose nipple to a plastic dipstick tube

Strange question, I know. But I have a new engine that came without the optional pulse fuel pump. It's a Loncin 17 hp, and I'm having a hard time sourcing the correct dipstick tube with the nipple made into it. (how the OEM Loncin motors come with the fuel pump) I could possibly drill a hole...

Kohler Command 25 misting oil through breather

Hello everyone, Got a question I think I already know the answer to, but wanted a little verification. I've got a kohler command 25 vertical that is blowing a light mist of oil through the breather hose. Very light mist. Also has the hissing sound when you shut the engine off, the last few...

    Encore zero turn mowers

Hey guys, I own a small dealership for zero turn mowers, as well as blades, belts and other parts for many different mowers, and a repair shop. I was approached today by a salesman from Encore and he gave me a program and pricing on the mowers. The price looks good and so do the specs. I...

New Briggs Vanguard 40 hp EFI

Thanks everyone for chiming in. Been a few days since I checked this thread. I think the novelty and history of the Vanguard is what drew me into the thought of giving it a shot. But until it is proven in the field, I believe i am going to pass on it and stick to tried and true FX Kawasaki...

New Briggs Vanguard 40 hp EFI

lot of good thoughts. I appreciate the advice. I'm a little concerned also, the reason I started the thread. May not be worth the risk. I'm definitely not a fan of most Briggs engines. The cheaper versions are not good, IMO. I thought the Vanguard might be the Crème de la Crème. But don't want...

New Briggs Vanguard 40 hp EFI

Hello, Curious about opinions on the new B&S Vanguard 40 HP EFI that's being put on commercial mowers. Vertical shaft I believe. I was always a fan of the older Vanguard engines. Someone said they used to be made by Datsun and were top of the line engines. Just wonder if it is still true about...

Kohler Command Single cylinder- leaking gas

Hey guys, thanks so much for the advice. Very much appreciated. It turned out to be a simple problem. The tank was full of trash and there was no filter on the line. So trash was getting in the needle valve and preventing it from closing all the way. Doh! Should've known better. Thanks for the help

Kohler Command Single cylinder- leaking gas

Hello, I have a kohler command single in the shop. I think around 17-18 HP. (model # is worn off) It has a mechanical fuel pump mounted to the side of the block, and has a problem with leaking gas into the cylinder. Weve tried two different carburetors. Rebuilt with new needle valve and...

getting signal to new solenoid, still won't engage starter

Yes, it would seem you are right. But...I can touch the solenoid with a small guage wire connected to the positive post of the battery and it cranks very easily. Which tells me the battery, solenoid, starter, and ground are all good. It does get 12v to the solenoid when I turn the key also. A...

getting signal to new solenoid, still won't engage starter

Thanks for the reply. The solenoid is made onto the starter and the entire starter is grounded directly to the battery with a big wire, 4 guage or whatever is used on mowers. Also have replaced the solenoid with the same problem. I believe the solenoid grounds through the starter when you bolt...

getting signal to new solenoid, still won't engage starter

Thanks again for the help everyone. We never could figure out the problem, although it did seem to get better about cranking with the key. The battery seemed to have plenty of voltage and amperage, because you could jump the solenoid and it would spin and crank very easily. Just when you tried...

Exmark Turf Tracer wiring diagram/switch doesn't turn off motor

Yes, that's the part # i came up with as well, and the one I ordered. Funny thing, we've done one of these same units before and had the same problem. But the guy who finally figured it out is no longer here. He added a wire to it I believe. Wiring is not my forte. Especially with these mowers...

Exmark Turf Tracer wiring diagram/switch doesn't turn off motor

Hello everyone, I have an Exmark Turf Tracer TTX691KAE (312603620) in the shop that was having some wiring problems. The connector going to the motor was dry rotted, and being this guy is a full blown commercial customer, we decided to replace the wiring harness. It has seen lots of use and...
