Nice find there. That block off plate is kind of a hard to get item these days. I made one for mine that also had the bagger deal on it. Not sure on the stalling deal but the carb might need...
  2. Re: Craftman Mower with 16.5hp Honda Engine runs great without (new) air filter but n

Does the crankcase breather go into the aircleaner base? Might try pulling the hose off that and running the air cleaner in place.

    Re: 1975 sears st16 tractor

On my old GT second is too slow, 3rd is too fast. Both in final high ratio selector. Main reason I bought a hydro drive John Deere to do the main mowing. But I like the old Sears machine.
  4. Re: Craftman Mower with 16.5hp Honda Engine runs great without (new) air filter but n

Take a close look for any wire or connector that might be in contact with the air cleaner/housing with it in place.

If you can find a wiring diagram, or just search the machine, look for a relay that the switches might be energizing.

Neat video and I'd say a very experienced pilot. Probably a $1000 machine when all added up, more? Can't figure out the lift, the handle is part of it I guess. Thanks for posing, very interesting.

If not for the axles I'd say that's a power unit for a washing machine. Sure weird for a mower I think. Gentrans unit.

Weirdest looking mower I've ever seen. Function over form there. Does look like it's built to last. I like the sound proofing but don't think that'd work with air cooled motors?

Is this a hydro with the shift on the fender? Could be a wire going to the shifter as a reverse indicator. Look under the fender for the connection. Could be something for the seat too?
