  • Brian,

I don't like the way this conversation message system works - posted a reply and don't know where it went !

These Meg-Mo blades have 12 cutting edges and lifts on each knife - they mulch very well.

The 60" blade will work fine for snow as long as you don't run out of places to push it, but the blower is GREAT !

Have you been to the Ventrac Web Site?

Just remembered an FYI if you have the foot control for forward and reverse and go over any gravel or stone - if you have a problem with the hand control check under the foot control for stones that limit it's travel.
I didn't notice where you are, but we had 24" and 20" of snow here in VA this year and the blower had NO PROBLEM. I grew up in upstate NY south of Buffalo so purchased the blower when I got the Ventrac - did not need it until this year. Plowed out 7 drives plus ours (each around 1/4 mile) + 1/2 mile to the main road. You will LOVE it -- I do the routine maint. and use Amsoil about 2 times as often as called for. Let me know if you have more questions.

Had to do 2 messages (first was too long) !
    Ruster,

If it is ice, yes the chains will help -- the only problem I had is that the chains work well on the front, but on the rear they touch the frame where it is bent out and a little less than 1" between wheel and frame - I made 1/2" spacers from Lexan (polycarbonate) and put them between the axle and wheel so there is clearance for the rear. Tractor Supply has the cross chains that will fit 0114906 - do use chain tighteners. I have the spreader and put sand in it. The 3-N-1 adapter is great for the rear and adds versatility in weights and attachments. The rear lights came with the Strobe/Light bar - I moved the strobe down under the ROPS because of clearance on my shed door. I have the KA 160 blower and it will push leaves where you want them (I clean out ditches and culverts too). I don't know if you saw the pictures of the Meg-Mo blades for the deck -- they mulch the leaves nearly completely and if you don't have thatch it is good fertalizer.
LOVE my VENTRAC 4200 - see my album. Mine is 6 years old and NO real problems.

    Bruce
