Here is an example of that problem. Customer had it to 2 shops before me. They replaced an expensive Kohler fuel pump and an expensive Kohler carb and both shops didn't realize it had a blown head gasket too.

Fuel injection will be better starting and fuel economy. When something goes wrong with the fuel injection good luck unless you have the manual for that engine covering the fuel injection system and the tools to do tests or you will be taking it to the dealer.

You can't go wrong with OEM filters but aftermarket is fine as long as you use the proper filter from the likes of Stens or Rotary or other reputable supplier you can't go wrong either. If the OEM filter has an anti drainback valve make sure the aftermarket filter has one too.

Measure how long the threads in the head are. If it had a plug like RC12YC in it it will be too cold heat range.

From the looks it is an L hrad engine. Not sure what the sparkplug hole thread is but the regular RJ19LM should be the correct heat range. Is there a plug that came out of it?
