1998 Yard Machines model #13AM675G062. I am the original owner. For about the last ten years, this mower steers nice and tight when going to the right, but will not turn tight toward the left. I have looked at the steering gears and nothing looks amiss. Any ideas?

I am sure you know what you mean but I don't quite follow.
Are you saying it turns tighter to the right than left ?
or
From a full lock right turn it jambs and wont turn left?
or
have you been mowing in clockwise circles since 1998 ?

Most riding mowers turn sharper to one direction then the other. After ten years you could have some worn out bushings.
Biggest mistake people make is turning the steering wheel when the mower is sitting still.
Cars has you going in the right direction, steering gear bushings or bearings. I'll bet you will find that it is worn badly in one direction, allowing the gears to lockup when turning left.
