Hi fokes, new member here. I bought the tractor knowing it had a heating problem, but run. Checking it out found water pump locked up and blowing air in radiator. Removed head and gasket was ok, further checking found small crack in #2 cylinder. checked specs one yanmar engine and found out that it was cast steel instead of cast iron. welder said that he could weld it but could not replace the seat. Any body have any suggestions. Thanks

Engine machine shop for more evaluation, possible weld, weld then sleeve then bore. On the seat, are you talking about the valve seat? If valve seats, those can be removed and new ones put in, they can be oversized if sloppy from the heat damage then cut to proper dimensions. On the machine shop, stick with those of known reputation, ask around, ask others where they go and get their work done, do some digging. It will save you headaches and $$$$
