How do the two wires on a 12 hp Briggs & Stratton hook up? 1 wire has a diode.

Well what a question, if you give so little info to start with and yet you are hoping someone will help you..!
If the other wire is Black that one (if coming from the stator go's to light switch (ac output for lights) the one with the diode go's to (B) Battery on the key switch.
