Hi, I'm Tom, new to the forum. I have an inherited 1976 Troy-Bilt pony rototiller with the 4hp Briggs and Stratton engine model number 100292-0536-01. The governor spring broke. I ordered a replacement no problem. One end obviously goes on the governor arm (where the unbroken end of the spring is hanging), but where does the other end connect? It is probably staring me in the face, but I'm not seeing it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Can you post a picture? Maybe then someone can point out the correct place for the spring to attach.

I'm not sure but your answer may be in this MANUAL ... see section 4
As stated, a pic would be helpful. Also, post what B&S part number you bought. We can look at the IPL and make a suggestion. Are you referring to the spring that connects between the throttle control mechanism and the governor/throttle plate linkage?
