I had had mowed my whole lawn 5 days before. Grass is growing fast, so went to give it another run. When pulled the PTO switch on my John Deere 425, it immediately boggs down, and if I don't disengage the switch, the engine stalls out and shuts down. Open to suggestions.
When the load of the stationary blades and then turning them occurs the engine must go into power/ enrichment phase. I don't know that machine, but perhaps carburetor is not providing proper initial mix, or perhaps ignition is not providing strong enough spark. But your best bet is having a pro or other owner respond here which usually happens after my :2cents:
Edit, And...check to see if something got wrapped around the blades which is more "load" than the engine came overcome...like wire or some chunk of wood.
