I bought a la150 today with a blown motor (maybe) for 150$ My purpose was for parts ,mostly the deck. But what is the edge deck difference over a normal deck.
Trade name for JD decks.
Only used on mowers, so I suppose it distinguishes them from teal tractor decks.
They have a problem with the welds on the deck hangers cold short so they crack along the interface between the deck & the weld.

I buy cheap mowers this time of year and fix them and turn them in the spring. I needed the deck for a different JD mower wasn't totally familiar with the edge system. But it will work
They came with the L , LA LX, D and 100 series.
Also the residential ZTR's.
a very good deck except for the cracking around the rear hangers
Funny enough I pick up damaged ones, weld them up and sell the deck.
Brand new they go $ 900 complete
Same size MTD deck is $ 1600.
I get a lot for scrap & from the tip because they crack, clowns try to mig the cracks with a home hobby welder & they crack again almost strait away

I swapped the decks out tonight the la140 is now a LA 150 lol went from a 48 to a 54 inch
