i have an old trimmer weedeater gti18 and today i see that many power tools come with attachable accessories, like cutting saw , edge trimmer etc and i wonder if someone knows if for this weedeater gti 18 can be used with other accessories (i understand that you have to dismentel screws etc not like in the new tools that you have a quick release )but still i would like to explore this option.

Unfortunately your trimmer is not made to accept other accessories. It's possible to convert it (I've done it before), but you would need the shaft from a newer split shaft (attachment capable) trimmer. If you can find a cheap split shaft trimmer on your local Craigslist, it's possible to attach the engine from your trimmer onto the shaft from the split shaft trimmer. However, it's probably not a good idea to try this unless you are a fairly good mechanic.
