v21p trying my hand at restoration

I have restored a few V-series before but nothing like this. I may need a little helpDSCF3560v21p.jpgDSCF3562v21p.jpgDSCF3563v21p.jpg whats the hole in the deck with the arrow above it?(I added the arrow to the pic)

I don't see any arrow, but I assume you mean that hole at the far right about 2/3 way up. I think it is a port to squirt water through to wash the underside.

If not an access point for cleaning maybe an early design for something to do with air flow? Never noticed that before, but have not seen many V21s that old either. That's pre-1974. Looking forward to more pics of your work.

Looks like the deck at least is a V21PS. Found the hole on it. Still no idea what for.

Never mind last post. I found the hole on all the diagrams at Jacks Small Engine

I've checked out Jacks Small Engine websites before looking for a replacement 3.5 hp vertical recoil Briggs engine- no go.

I've been poking around the interweb too trying to find one. I know I've seen them before and I thought it was on small engine warehouse dot com I think but I'm not seeing it. Maybe email them and see if it's available. Or perhaps one will pop up on eBay.

I found a brand new 3.5hp engine block like that on ebay several years ago- I just had to add the rest of the goodies- DSCF3803.JPGDSCF3787a.jpg225236_1031514721628_1390040_n.jpg
