Hello,
Would be most grateful for any help or thoughts on this:
Have a 10 yr old Toro GPS 22" self propelled Lawn Mower.
Not sure of engine mfg. Likely B&S
New Spark Plug
New Air Filter.
Also tried that liquid Carb. Cleaner treatment.
Prime it the 3X as they say to do, hold down the
handle, and pull.
Starts right up, each time.
But, after about only 5 seconds conks right out.
Each and every time.
Pulling handle again won't start it again.
If I re-prime again, starts right up again, and stops after the 5 seconds.
I'm out of ideas.
Any idea what might be going on, and how, hopefully, to correct ?
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Toro 22" GPS Recycler Self Propelled Walk Behind mower Starting Prob., Please
Willing to bet the float seat in the carb has swelled, causing a problem of not enough fuel in the float bowl. Post the mowers model and serial numbers so I can see exactly which engine you have.

Robert when you said it's a Briggs MAYBE.... I agree that you have one...... Most Toro's come with a Briggs...
Ok Here is a video I made yesterday on a carb almost exactly like yours......
Go to 1:50 in the video if you want to, but the whole 6 minute video is informative......... Enjoy Mon Ami...........
Let us know your outcome.......... BTW the engine runs fine.... That's another video though coming soon.......
