Stx38 transaxle fluid level

Hi, I have a stx38 yellow deck. My neutral switch went bad. As i replaced the switch i put a screwdriver about 3” in the hole. No fluid was on the screwdriver. Was wondering what the level should be, and what type is recommend if I need to add some.
