I don't own the older 74 but I did the 80 and it is great the older sthils are great and I love it I have ran a 74 seems to have good power :thumbsup:

I agree with you on the fs80 those are what put stihl in the trimmer market in the 90s

A lot of mowing contractors in our area use FS 85 & a few use FS 90 both exelent machines.

Have a FS 81, had it for 3 years got it given to me overhauled the carb best machine ive ever owned next to my lawnboys lovem both.:smile::thumbsup::tongue::wink::laughing::biggrin::licking::cool::rolleyes:
