Hi folks , I have just got a Stihl FS240C strimmer. problem i have is , Starts ok idles ok,And takes throttle ok for about 20seconds then seems to go in to restriced mode and wont rev over idle and dies. i have cleaned the carb and new carb kit, Could this be a internal fault with the ignition coil module. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Not a problem common in Scotland, but take off the muffler & try again.
If it runs full power ( for a few minutes ) you have a blocked muffler.
IT WILL BE VERY LOUD & CAN DEAFEN SMALL CHILDREN.

I just fixed a small engine with the same symptoms. It turned out to be a lose head bolt. I do not even know how it started but it did then would stop. This is a very rare issue so take this as needed.
