I have just bought a Stiga Villa Senitor with a front flail attachment. All needing repair and some parts need making.
I have lots to do on it and I am wondering if anyone has one that could give me some tips or even tell me its age?
It's a 13-2858-24 Which has found me the parts list with proper drawings, which I am pleased about.
I have searched the forum and haven't found a related post.
Thanks, Chris.

:welcome:

I have never been able to find any service data on any Stiga except the Park 2000.
For parts I use Castle Gardens which appear to be Stiga's rebranded
Most of those have parts lists and owners manals on line.
The rest of it has been all guesswork.

Check the engine and see if it has a date on it. Parts manual says season 2000. Maybe that is the year.

Thanks Chuck.

The Briggs and Stratton engine No's are :-
Model.. 296797 Could that last No. be 1997 ??
Type... 1141E1
Code... 0003072E.

I know some modle Nos on other stuff sometimes make the last two the Date?
But I would suspect that as you say the parts list could be 2000. and more likely.

0003072E This is your date code.
First 2 digits = 2000
Second 2 digits = March
3rd 2 digits = 7th day
March 7, 2000 is when engine was manufactured. So the mower is a 2000 model.

From Briggs Web site:
"How can I determine the age of my engine? (For engines manufactured after 1965)
The engine’s code number indicates the exact date it was manufactured. This system provides an easy way to determine the age of your small engine.

The following is an example of interpreting date Code 99011556:

The first two digits (99) denote the year of manufacture. In this case it is 1999.
The next two digits (01) are the month of the year, which is January.
The following two digits (15) are the day of the month. In this case the 15th.
The final two digits designate the plant and assembly line.
Therefore, this engine’s manufacture date was January 15, 1999."

Thanks for deciphering that date code, and explained perfectly.
All I have to do is sort the thing out now. Should give me hours of fun in the shed and keep me out of mischief for a while!..
