I have a 50" Troybilt ZT with the Kohler Courage 25 horse motor.the [roblem I am having is whenever I mow down or up a small incline every once in awhile it will bog down and spit out a big cloud of white smoke like it dumped oil in the exhaust.Any idea why this does this and how to fix?I noticed it did this when I made a sharp trun this weekend once as well,,

Does this happen every time you mow or does it happen once and awhile?

I also thought white smoke meant burning off fuel or coolant. I don't think your burning off coolant so I think its a lack of fuel. Since this only happens going up/down hills, you could be building up an air pocket in the fuel filter and having a fuel starved engine for a brief time. Now if the smoke was thick and black, then you would be burning to much fuel.

That's the good news, the bad news is that if it is oil, you could have a leaking head gasket or a ring wear. A compression test may be needed to verify this.
