They now have some good gas tank repair products at your auto parts stores. Go check them out. One of the products I have had very good luck with is Seals-all which comes in a yellow tube but I am sure there are other things that work just as well. Keep away from any silicone sealants because gas will react with it in a bad way.
Simple it should take bout 20 min......remove the fuel line, lift seat remive the 2 bolts holding the seat springs, lift up on the fender and wedge a 2x4 in between frame and fender, jack up rear and remove the right rear wheel....dont lose the key shaft or it wont move.....remive the fuel cap, remove the tank support bar, lower the deck all the way, they kinda spin the tank out front end first....
