Purchased a Scag Cheetah with 35 hp Kohler Command Pro ECV940 EFI engine this month. The mower was a left over from last year. We have used the mower twice on a 4 acre lot. Last night my wife was using the machine when the motor started surging badly. We brought the mower into the shop and let it cool down. When you start the engine, with the throttle control at idle, it begins to surge badly and accelerates up to the rev limiter and then back down, the surge takes less than a second. It never returns to idle speed. My dealer is an hour away, I was wondering if there is anything I check (simple fix) before returning it to the dealer.
