During the hot part of the summer, I like to mow with the deck all the up. (John Deere LX188). My landlord thought it would be a good idea to raise up the deck one notch on her yard too. I use her Gravely ZTR on her yard. So I bought some Stens high lift blades for both our mowers. Somehow I got the idea that the high lift blade worked like a fan and blew the grass upward and made the uncut grass (below the cutting height) stand up while being cut.
After cutting both of our yards with these, I'm not impressed. Both mowers seems to leave tire impressions, and the grass without that manicured look. Especially after the grass (in the tire impressions) stands back up.
Is there a better high lift blade out there? Or is the Stens high lift blades about the same as the others?
