I know I can't pull much given the transmission on my mower, but does anyone know the recommend weight that I can pull with my Big Dog Alpha 42 (Kawasaki engine)?

Approximately half the weight of mower. That includes you and trailer.

Thanks. So the answer is effectively not much

Well if your mower is 1000lbs then 500 is max.
