Pto pulley and clutch assembly issue

I made a previous post about not being able to get my pto pulley off. Well I got it off but crushed it. Jacks small engine schematic website says they no longer make the pulley but i found one on ebay.

Here is my issue. My clutch is not sitting high enough on the shaft to be able to lock into place from not moving. Has anyone ran into an issue with they pulleys being too long? I tossed the old pulley and I have nothing to compare it too.

This is very reason we got use the full model number. (the long one starting with "96" from the serial number tag).

Now without it, it looks like you may have looked up the wrong RZ 5426 (the BI version). The other RZ 5426 mowers used PN 539114530 (superseded to 587537401). Now is it different height wise? I can't tell from the pictures.
