Poulan Pro Riding Mower Won't Start

I have a Poulan Pro riding mower Model PP1136JA (1992 model i believe). My key switch broke at the end of last season so I've been trying to start it from the solenoid to by pass the key switch. It will turn over but will not start. I checked for spark and im not getting anything for spark. I changed the spark plug and still no spark. What could it be?

The Key has to be to the On position for the tractor to start. You might want to take a small drill bit and drill out the tumblers in the ignition switch and then any key will work!

Save yourself a ton of aggravation and spend a few bucks and buy a replacement switch.
