I just purchased an Echo model #SHC-266 hedge trimmer and its a hedge trimming monster. I was trimming a giant hedge back which occasionally involved somewhat large diameter branches and before long the cutter head started, for lack of a better term, clattering. The performance wasnt effected and I couldnt detect that anything was bent or damaged, it just started making a clattering noise. I figure it might have been inevitable.
I mean it its designed to cut limbs as big as fits in the head right?

No!!! They aren't designed to cut big branches of the trunk limbs of a hedge.
