I have a problem with my Murray 22-inch push gas lawn mower. Model # 22525X92A
The anchor nut which connects my lower handle plate to the housing and rear baffle came loose and fell off while my son was mowing my lawn today. The side of the rear baffle that became unanchored is seriously out of position. So much so that my son couldn't manage to force it back into place so the bolt could be re-inserted and the nut put back on.
In my Murray handbook for the mower, it lists the baffles as "optional" parts. Does this mean my son can just disconnect the other side of the rear baffle and remove it entirely? This would solve the inability to align the recently unanchored side. My only other option is having to haul the mower to a service shop and paying the labor cost for someone to do it for me.
