I'm trying to help a friend who has a craftsman eager 1 mower that runs ok on the level, and going up hill, but quits, as if from lack of fuel, going down hill.
Any ideas?

Maybe a low float lever in the carburator or something wrong with the gas tank?

Float is staying in a raised position on level ground . Going down hill it is letting the fuel run out of the bowl.
I soak the float in cleaner for 30 minutes submerged . Far share of them come out of the bath partially filled with cleaner .
Make sure the float moves freely on it's hinged mount .
