:welcome::welcome:

So is what you are trying to say is if you line up the magnet & coil by hand then hit the starter the engine will spin for 2 revolutions then some times start or just stop in almost the same place ?

If so when was the last time the engine was fully serviced and by whom ?

Finally there are a lot of 24Hp Briggs engines so the numbers from the rocker cover will be a great help
Model Code and serial .

it makes perfect sense to people who know that there is more to mower maintanance than putting oil in the engine & changing filters
The OP never bothered to reply so the thread stopped dead, just like his engine was because no one had bothered to adjust the valve lash.
Magnets aligned with col = just after tdc so 2 ful revolutions of the engine to build up momentum enough to overcome lack of decompression because the valve las was too big because the OP never bothered to check it.

It would be nice if OPs would follow through, so each thread has a chance of being a full article with Problem, Solutions, Resolution, and maybe even a thank you at the end...

it makes perfect sense to you but not to the carnal mind who only knows to put oil and gas in their motor ; that's why God put you here to keep us straight, oh and by the way a big " THANK YOU" :thumbsup:!!

:laughing: Didn't mean to sound snippy with the 'thank you' thing, was more of a comment on original posters who pop on, ask a question, and you never see them again. Don't know if they were helped, or nuttin'...
