Mixing regular oil with synthetic

Have Kohler 7000 series 23 hp. Want to change break-in oil (not filter), replace with synthetic (Quaker 10-30 wt). Will have residual oil left in filter which I assume is petroleum based oil. Will residual oil mix with synthetic?

Yes, Some synthetic oils are actually dino oil with a synthetic additive package. Actually changing the filter may be more important than the oil since all the breakin grit is in the filter, the oil is not hurt.

I agree with Bert- Change that Oil Filter. Cause it is full of "Dirty Break-In Oil" in it anyhow. This is the most important oil change, don't cheap out.

I did post a reply that does not seem to show up, but that happens sometimes.

Correction made as my reading glasses were dirty. Thanks to all.
