Hi Everybody,

You may have noticed that underneath your user name, there is a small image with a title and stars. These are called user titles, which are assigned based on the number of posts you contribute to LawnMowerForum.com.

Wow I think I will be in a retirement home and be messing with their lawns (and mowers) by I can reach this level! Meanwhile I have my eyes on the 'mower addict' title.

And there's room for two more stars after the 10,000 post level... but I'll have to think about what comes after "Pharoah"...

#7

That is so funny. As I scrolled down and read the list of levels, I thought "Lawn Pro" would be the end of it. Then came came Addict, King and Pharaoh.

Just keep posting........thats every day if possible.......why not be a good person.

I noticed the title only when I became Bronze Member. Thanks for telling us here what this means. I wonder what's beyond Lawn Pharaoh. But no sweat, I still have 9,950 posts to make to find out. If I make two posts a day, I would go past Lawn Pharaoh after 14 years. That's about the time I'd retire, hahaha!

I don't see how you could top Pharaoh. He was considered a god to the ancient Egyptians.

I think Lawn Pro and Mower Addict are transposed.

I think that's correct. Last week I noticed that KennyV became a "mower addict" when he hit 1000 posts. According to the list in this thread, he should have become a "lawn pro". They're both cool titles.

Ha... ha I just noticed that along with the 2500 club... I also got a LMF ball cap... should come in handy to keep this 100 degree+ sunshine off my white hair... Thanks for the shade Muhammad...

Complete and utter defeat. You have much to look forward to, KennyV.

Well, how about "Lawngod"........(SMALL 'g' - so as not to be offensive to religious people of all stripes) I would say it should go to Lawn Chief (ha ha ha ha), then Lawn King, then Pharoh......

Although 'Lawn Chief' and "Lawn King' were just cheap Murrays..........but, if you post that much, you GOTTA have a sense of humor!! I should be close to the 5k mark by years end at this rate.....

Most seem to like this system but on a detailing forum that I have been a member for several years the post count was dropped because some had a high post count but nothing of value.

They decided that the quality of the post was more important than just sheer numbers.

exactly, well said , QUALITY OVER QUANTITY any day of the week

Now there are at least 3 of us that completely... agree.
If there has to be a count ticker... it should only go up according to content. I don't know that is possible, but it would be nice...

If there needs to be a counter, let it be only visible one wk out of the year... or only visible to the person posting, and no one else. I have never cared for the "just because I showed up'" type of score card...

It is not that hard to tell who makes sense in any discussion... and it is usually not the one who shows up the most...
What ever works, Like I said a long time ago... I am here to stay, I like the Forum... and not because of the count... :smile:KennyV

Well IMO you are at the top on both post count and quality.
Your post are dead on every time.

Another option: have posts in The Front Porch or New Members not count toward the post count. Then only posts that have something to do with mowers would get counted.

Well, I know disagreeing has become a big no no as of late, but I couldn't care less.

Postcounts on this site are an excellent gauge as to a member's participation (or lack thereof ). If you don't like where somebody chooses to hang out most of the time on this site, that's just too bad.

A member who's been here a year and has 135 posts does NOT display the same level of participation as a member who has been here a month and has 200. Judging the"quality" of posts is a very subjective and time consuming job. I think the post system is fair enough as is.

Don't like it? Then participate more. Other than in one comfortable subject. Try to think well rounded, for Pete's sake.

Furthermore, you are not going to reach the upper echelons of the user titles (the title of this thread) by posting in the "Front Porch" or "New Members" forums. You HAVE to participate elsewhere to reach those numbers, if that is your goal. Especially in a forum this size. We are not a HUGE forum like TBN where you could sit in their "Front Porch" and rack up the posts 24/7 without ever mentioning a tractor.

Unless you wanna do a lot of fluff talking to yourself - if you have a high postcount, it means you talked to SOMEONE. That means a lot to me, anyway.

It'll take me at least till I am 100 to reach 10,000 posts. Maybe I'll get there someday.

Oh my... I had not noticed recently, I do actually look more at new names & where they are from, and the great regulars we have here...I guess the left column of my posts just don't catch my eye....
In any case those numbers do seem to add up, I'm really Surprised.
It is actually a reflection of the great folks we have on this forum, without all the interesting members here, there would be very little to coment or post about... :smile:KennyV

I came up with 2:

Mower/Lawn Boss
Mower/Lawn God

But Pharoah pretty much is a god.

twall,
Even though you are a Lawn Addict, is it OK if I am offended by your low blow remark? My son just retired a Lawn Chief(bought in 1993 at True Value hardware) after 19 years of extremely dependable service. It was a 46" deck with a 16HP Briggs & Stratton Vanguard and other than a couple of belts and idler pulleys it was a VERY good lawn tractor. The deck finally began falling apart around it, but that Vanguard engine was the best small engine I've ever seen(extremely powerful for a 16hp and still didn't use a drop of oil between seasonal changes)....can't say that about the 24hp B & S Intek on the 2006 Craftsman I bought to replace it when I gave the Lawn Chief to my son. I dare say he'll be lucky if he gets 4 more years out of that lawn tractor. Soooooooo, Lawn Chief may have been a "cheap Murray" but the one I bought still brings a tear to my eye when I think about it sitting in a lawn mower salvage yard!!
