Newbie here. Have decided on a new Hustler, but dont know if I should buy the Kohler 7000 Pro or the Kawasaki 691V. Have a Kohler Command that is 12 years old and has ran flawlessly, but hearing good things about the Kawasaki. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Kawasaki makes some bullet-proof motorcycle engines but they're water cooled. Don't know if all that expertise transfers to air cooled or not, but among the three major engine suppliers, Kawasaki would be my first choice.

Honda exited the ride on engine market because they refused to down grade their engines to the price that mower makers were willing to pay.
Kawasaki jumped into that slot and then found out why Honda had left.
They are supposed to be the top level engine.
parts are a lot more expensive and the newer engines have definately been designed down to a price.
Both of them are reasonable engines.
