I wanted to share the double broken rod Kohler 25hp teardown pics with you guys, this was a DYT4000 Craftsman that looks brand new and had double thrown rods. it was given to me. has a 48"deck and hydro trans. is what i found when i took the bottom cover off. there was lots of shrapnel in the case. the cam was also broke where it goes into the cover.

Looking at you pics, my guess would be an oil pump failure or a blocked oil filter. Just my guess, but I do see some metal transfer on the crank.

Rivets, i agree on the oil pump failure, the gear is very hard to turn on the oil pan, it should turn freely by hand correct? thanks for all of your help.
