I have a Dixie Chopper with a Kohler 25hp engine. The mower came without a starter and since I had a starter from a 23hp Kohler engine that I knew was good and bolted up, I decided to give it a whirl. However, the engine dosen't turn over very well with the starter I put in from the 23hp. I'm wondering if the starter for the 25hp has more torque, different gears or is just more powerful. It certainly looks much beefier. I plan on getting a new starter but I was just curious since the troubleshooting literature says it could be the ACR which would require a tear down. Thanks in advance for all the help !!!

Most of the engine in that size class use the same starter. I don't know if you have the courage twin or the command engine. The command does not use ACR.
