it's not always a sheared key. Most pros probably know this but some of us non-pros don't so I thought I'd share. FJ180V had a severe kickback problem (tore a ligament in my hand ouchie) and eventually refused to pull at all. I checked the key (Cub s621 PITA) and it was fine. Checked the valves and the exhaust valve was way off. Set it to spec and put everything back together. Easy fix... wish I'd checked the valves first. Just thought I'd share that for some of the others like me who don't know it all yet

Yeah, I had the exact same problem with my Stihl FS-90 trimmer, I adjusted the valves ...BINGO !! problem solved ! ..:thumbsup:
