I have a 42" craftsman rider with a kohler vc16s motor. I started the mower and started cutting grass and the mower quit, i tried starting it again and it did not start, but the starter kept turning so i turned the key off but it still kept on turning so i got off and lifted the seat still kept turning, had to unhook the battery to shut it off. Any ideas on how to nfix this would be appreciated.

New starter solenoid OR ignition (starter) switch.
Either the start circuit of the ignition switch is continuously sending current to the solenoid or the solenoid itself is stuck closed.
