shof, As usual I have to add my:2cents:, hopefully to clarify. The utube can confuse with its term of "timing." which makes one think of electrical issues. In the older days we adjusted lots of carbs. The cutoff setting and "stroke" setting are merely where the inlet valve is closed to prevent flooding and (stroke) how low the float is allowed to sink as the fuel level is depleted in bowl (used up). These are set by bending the "tangs" shown in the utube as 90 degree sheet metal flanges. The engine dudes have specified those two dimensions in a manual (somewhere). Typically the dimensions are taken off the gasket edge. Always check the inlet valve (pointed end ) for wear, and if notched, replace.Help?
